Focused on popular comic book character design and the art of comic book making, this class is perfect for the creative mind. Every superhero has their kryptonite so what weak spot wil YOUR superhero have? In this class, you will learn to draw Lego characters, Ninja Turtles and much more.
Learning Objectives:
-Every class will begin with a 30 min. character design workshop and the students will experience first hand the tricks that makes them age so well.
-Line drawing comes before shading and therefore makes for a great foundational skill. Control, precision and even the daunting art of inking will be part of this course.
-With their complexity, comic books offer a platform to put our young artist's strength forward. The panels work like a storyboard with rythm and cinematic angles. The speech bubbles contain text and interactive dialogues. There are backgrounds and fashion involved. All of this takes advantage of a child's natural ability to spend time on what interest's them most.

-Sharpener
-Eraser
-Scissors
-Ruler
-Sketchbook
-Sharpie Marker
-Proper No. 5 Fine Liners (from a brand like Micron or Steadler is encouraged)
About the Instructor:
Édouard Beaudry is an enthusiastic instructor who believes that one’s personality shines through their art. His classes hone into the student’s creativity to perfect different techniques which can then be used spontaneously. For him, teaching art is an art form in and of itself, a journey which enriches the lives of everyone involved.
