Highly recommended for those interested in animation and game design, this 3-module portfolio preparation program covers the fundamentals of digital media. From character design, concept design to basic rules of digital painting, students will explore how to create a unique visual language of their own and bring drawings to life.
Module 1:
Character Design
Understand the primary concepts of animation and gaming. Students will learn how to analyze materials from existing animations and mobile games and understand the basic rules behind compelling motion graphics. Each student will develop a concept for animation or game design and create their own fantasy world and characters.
Module 2:
Colour, Light, and Digital Painting
Analyze the use of colours and lighting in film narratives and understand how they enhance the effective storytelling process. The class will examine different cinematic styles and help the students to develop their own theme, style and colour script. The basics of Photoshop and digital painting will be introduced in this module.
module 3:
Story Development and Concept Art
Transform ideas into compelling narratives and story worlds. Students will produce a personal project in the final Capstone Project, using the materials and narrative developed in the previous classes. At the end of the course, each student will present their final project.
