We are thrilled to share that Yeran, a student from Green Apple Art Center (GAAC), received her admission offer on February 28 to the prestigious Byng Arts Mini School Program at Lord Byng Secondary School in Vancouver. GAAC has witnessed her growth and dedication throughout the journey, and we are incredibly proud of her achievement. We hope this milestone inspires all our students to continue striving forward with determination and passion.
🎉 Congratulations to Yeran!
A heartfelt congratulations to Yeran for being successfully accepted into the first round of admissions for the Byng Arts Program!
As the saying goes, “Success is not guaranteed by hard work, but without hard work, success is impossible.”
Over the years, GAAC has continuously supported and guided many students through the highly competitive Byng Arts application process. With increasing numbers of applicants and limited spots available, the selection becomes more challenging each year. While we celebrate Yeran’s success, we also want to express our pride in all the students who gave their best during this process.
Success always comes with its fair share of setbacks. But as the old saying goes, “Failure is the mother of success.”Never give up—keep moving forward with courage and confidence. We are proud of each one of you.
Byng Arts Admission Update
As many already know, this year has been one of the most competitive in Byng Arts Mini School’s admission history. For students in Grades 8 to 10 especially, available spots depend on existing students leaving the program—meaning admission results do not necessarily reflect a student's talent or potential.
To those who have not received an offer yet—don’t be discouraged! The second-round results will be announced on March 6, and students who have been placed on the waitlist still have a chance.
According to data released on February 28,
a total of 86 students received first-round offers,
84 of whom were Grade 7 applicants.
Within the Visual Arts category,
only 24 students were admitted.
As the official notice stated, students in Grades 9–12 still have a strong chance, as the school is still reviewing available spots. With a little patience, good news may still be on the way!
Meanwhile, the official site has also confirmed that over 300 applicants applied this year—which means only 1 out of every 3 applicants received a spot. So even if this year didn’t go as hoped, don’t give up—there’s always next year to try again!
