Congratulation to Brian for winning the 3X3 Illustration Show Student Show Annual No.20 Distinguished Merit Award. This competition offers five levels of awards: Gold, Silver, Bronze, Distinguished Merit, Merit, and Honourable Mention. We are all incredibly proud of Brian's achievement, especially as he is the only high school student to receive an award from 3x3 this year. Competing with other top art and design university students, Brian's talent and outstanding abilities shine through. The GAAC instructors are delighted with his success.
Inspired by contemporary collages and the scrappy sketches of rough animation, I explored the commonalities of our slothful/repetitive mornings to the dream-like sequence of an animation. To me, the term 'morning blue' represents the dullness of our lives that we may get entangled in within the midst of our repetitive mornings. Especially after restful nights, the cold morning breeze can, at first glance, seem unforgiving towards all of nature; but still, the guaranteed rising of the sun embraces us to the start-line of our days. This project tries to recognize and tell the different mornings of different people. Although the mass differences of culture, language, and traditions drive us apart; in the end, we all begin our days as the same sun rises. No matter how repetitive or dull it may feel, it is important to realize that all of us live under the same sky and that is what makes us, as a human race/society, function.
