August 2023 Summer Recap

August 2023 Summer Recap

Throughout the summer, GAAC's students actively engaged in various events, partnering with VHS Market and the Vancouver Visual Art Foundation for fundraising initiatives. The summer season serves as a prime opportunity for students not only to explore new programs and dedicate time to enhancing their portfolios, but also to partake in outdoor events that foster leadership, well-rounded skills, and the cultivation of relationships. The total fund raised now is above $420. Congratulations!

Congratulation to Brian for winning the 3X3 Illustration Show Student Show Annual No.20 Distinguished Merit Award. This competition offers five levels of awards: Gold, Silver, Bronze, Distinguished Merit, Merit, and Honourable Mention. We are all incredibly proud of Brian's achievement, especially as he is the only high school student to receive an award from 3x3 this year. Competing with other top art and design university students, Brian's talent and outstanding abilities shine through. The GAAC instructors are delighted with his success.

AP Exam Results Released

AP Exam Results Released

In the morning of July 5th, the AP official results were announced, and students could log into their accounts to check their scores. All the students from GAAC who participated in the AP Art courses brought us good news, with some achieving perfect scores, adding joy to this summer. While the students who received a score of 5 were jubilant, does it mean that the AP exam holds no significance for those who didn't score a 5? At the same time, it's important to remind younger students that if they are preparing an AP art portfolio, they should start early!

Congrats, Graduates!

Congrats, Graduates!

Building on last year's success, GAAC's 2021 graduates did remarkably well this year.

Jennifer was accepted at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London, the top architecture university in Europe. She was among one of 17 students to receive this honour. Great job Jennifer, we are immensely proud of you! We are also thrilled that four of our students were accepted at the Rhode Island School of Design, a world-class institute!
