“Nature is not only all that is visible to the eye…it also includes the inner pictures of the soul.” —Edvard Munch Nature, in a broader sense, includes everything from the glorious Milky Way above one’s head to the most subtle movements of emotion in one’s interior. We live in it and we are part of it. Nature, as the source of inspiration, provides us innumerous materials for creative practice. The course begins with an observation of a natural phenomenon by drawing and documenting, ends with an idiosyncratic design or art piece that captures and transforms the ineffable beauty. The course involves drawing from observation, ideation, sketch drawing, model making.
